Our monthly newsletter is here to provide a follow up on what's happening at True Health CFM, things our doctors and professionals are up to, and any related information you might find useful.  

News and Happenings

Lots has been happening at True Health CFM lately! We recently started up our cooking classes again with the wonderful Kerin Gould from Produce With A Purpose. Kerin's story is inspirational. She has a background in nutrition and Native American studies, and her passion for nutrition strengthened when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After going through a few rounds of radiation she noticed the food prescribed by her father's physician was subpar. So she began healing him herself through good, simple homegrown food. The cooking class incorporated a knife skills introduction for basic knife handling, different blade types, and appropriate motion for best results, followed by a group contribution to the main dish. Everyone got the chance to dice an onion, potato and herbs to combine together with fresh beets and other delectable veggies for the final product, creamy borscht. An absolute homey and feel good soup to pink up those cheeks and soothe the soul. Guests even received their own bag of produce, fresh from Kerin's farm, to take home and enjoy the explosion of flavors a CSA farm's bounty provides. The next cooking class will be announced via email blast, keep an eye out so you can attend!

Great news for those who use Xymogen's supplements! They now offer MedPax. What are MedPax, you say? They are personalized boxes to dispense your daily vitamins in packages organized for morning and night that are delivered to you monthly. Never again will you have to separate out your vitamins and supplements into your giant pill container. Now your Xymogen pills come to you already organized by day/night prescription, labeled with your name, the supplements listed out on each packet so you know exactly what you're taking, and ready to dispense for your supplement intake. There's a picture with an example above. Ask Lori if you can set up your Xymogen supplements into a MedPax during your next visit.

Lastly, we are happy to announce we are expanding. Later this month we will be taking residence in the building across the way from our main office, at 4921 Golden Foothill Parkway, which will be the new Lifestyle Center. Your visits with the Health Coach and Dietician will take place in this building going forward. Exciting things are happening at True Health CFM and we look forward to bringing you more opportunities and services to optimize your health.

Queso Recipe: the Popular Dip Now Made Healthy

Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner! That means delicious foods that may not be so good for you. Luckily, Dr. Axe has come up with a great Queso Dip alternative to satisfy your creamy craving without compromising your health with the fake stuff. Total Time: 20–25 minutes

Serves: 6–8


2 tablespoons grass-fed butter
1 jalapeño, seeds removed and chopped
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic
2 tablespoons paleo flour blend
¼ cup plain goat milk yogurt
2 cups full-fat canned coconut cream
3 cups shredded goat cheddar cheese
2–3 roma tomatoes, diced
top with fresh cilantro and avocado


In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter.

Add in jalapeño, stirring until fragrant (about 2 minutes).

Add in spices and flour and continue to stir for 2 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium and add in yogurt, coconut cream, cheese and tomatoes, lightly stir until cheese completely melted into the mixture.

Serve alongside chips in a large bowl, topped with fresh cilantro, avocado and smoked paprika.
